Outstanding Young Speech Teacher

OSTCA’s oldest award was established in 1958. Originally limited to no more than 5 years teaching in the discipline and later changed to no more than 7 years. Recipient need not to be a member of the organization. In 1979 changed to Outstanding Teacher at the level of the recipient. Recipient need not to be a member of the organization. Established in 1958, but criteria not defined until 1964. In 1987 the award was divided into two awards: Outstanding Young High School Teacher and C.W. Mangrum Outstanding Young College Teacher.
